Seek the LORD while he may be found; / Call you on him while he is near
Let the wicked forsake his way, / and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the LORD, / and he will have mercy on him;
And to our God, / for he will abundantly pardon
We confess to God Almighty; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit that we have sinned in thought, word and deed, through our own grievous fault. Wherefore we pray God to have mercy on us. Almighty God, have mercy on us. Forgive us all our sins and deliver us from all evil, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness and bring us to life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
May the Almighty and merciful Lord grant unto us pardon and remission of all our sins / time for the amendment of life and the grace and comfort of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
Lord, open our lips / And our mouths shall proclaim your praise
O God make speed to save us / O Lord make haste to help us
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit / As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end
Amen
We praise you O God; / We acknowledge you to be the Lord.
All the earth worships you / the Father everlasting
To you all angels cry aloud / the heavens and all the powers therein
To you Cherubim and Seraphim continually cry / Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Hosts
Heaven and Earth are full / of the Majesty of your glory
The glorious company of the Apostles praises you / The goodly fellowship of the Prophets praises you
The noble army of the Martyrs praises you / The Holy church throughout the world acknowledges you
The Father of an infinite Majesty / Your honourable, true and only Son
And the Holy Ghost: / The comforter.
You are the King of Glory, O Christ / You are the everlasting Son of the Father
When you took it upon yourself to deliver humanity / you did not abhor the virgin's womb
When you had overcome the sharpness of death / you opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers
You sit at the right hand of God / in the glory of the Father
We believe that you will come to be our judge / Therefore we pray to you: help your servants
Whom you have redeemed by your precious blood / Make them numbered among your saints in everlasting glory
Lord, save your people and bless your inheritance / Govern them and lift them up forever
Day by day we magnify you / and we worship your name, ever world without end
Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day without sin / O Lord have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us
O Lord, let your mercy light upon us / as our trust is in you
O Lord, I have trusted in you / let me never be confounded
Psalm 88
The LORD, the God of my salvation, / I have cried day and night before you.
Let my prayer enter into your presence. / Turn your ear to my cry.
For my soul is full of troubles. / My life draws near to Sheol.
I am counted among those who go down into the pit. / I am like a man who has no help,
set apart among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom you remember no more. / They are cut off from your hand.
You have laid me in the lowest pit, / in the darkest depths.
Your wrath lies heavily on me. / You have afflicted me with all your waves. Selah.
You have taken my friends from me. You have made me an abomination to them. / I am confined, and I can’t escape.
My eyes are dim from grief. I have called on you daily, O LORD. / I have spread out my hands to you.
Do you show wonders to the dead? / Do the dead rise up and praise you? Selah.
Is your loving kindness declared in the grave? / Or your faithfulness in Destruction?
Are your wonders made known in the dark? / Or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
But to you, O LORD, I have cried. / In the morning, my prayer comes before you.
LORD, why do you reject my soul? / Why do you hide your face from me?
I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. / While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.
Your fierce wrath has gone over me. / Your terrors have cut me off.
They came around me like water all day long. / They completely engulfed me.
You have put lover and friend far from me, / and my friends into darkness.
2 Samuel 23: 2-5
The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me. / His word was on my tongue.
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, / ‘One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,
shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, / when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.’
Most certainly my house is not so with God, yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, / for it is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he
doesn’t make it grow.
Psalm 90
Lord, you have been our dwelling place / for all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth, before you had formed the earth and the world, / even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
You turn man to destruction, / saying, “Return, you children of men.”
For a thousand years in your sight are just like yesterday when it is past, / like a watch in the night.
You sweep them away as they sleep. / In the morning they sprout like new grass.
In the morning it sprouts and springs up. / By evening, it is withered and dry.
For we are consumed in your anger. / We are troubled in your wrath.
You have set our iniquities before you, / our secret sins in the light of your presence.
For all our days have passed away in your wrath. / We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
The days of our years are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty years; / yet their pride is but labour and sorrow, for it passes quickly, and we fly away.
Who knows the power of your anger, / your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?
So teach us to number our days, / that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Relent, O LORD! How long? / Have compassion on your servants!
Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness, / that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, / for as many years as we have seen evil.
Let your work appear to your servants; / your glory to their children.
Let the favour of the Lord our God be on us; / establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands.
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Be mindful, O Lord, of your people bowed before you / and of those who are absent through age, sickness, infirmity or any other cause
Care for the infants, guide the young, support the aged, / encourage the faint-hearted and bring the wandering to your fold.
Travel with the voyagers, defend the widows, shield the orphans / deliver the captives, heal the sick.
Succour all who are in tribulation, necessity or distress. / Remember for good those who love us, and those who hate us
And those who have desired us, unworthy as we are, to pray for them. / And those whom we have forgotten, do you, O Lord, remember.
For you are the helper of the helpless, / the Saviour of the lost
The refuge of the wanderer, / the healer of the sick.
You, who know the need of each / and have heard every prayer,
Grant unto us according to your merciful loving-kindness and eternal love / Through Jesus Christ, our Lord
Amen.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit / be with us all, evermore.
Amen.
