Seek the LORD while he may be found; / Call you on him while he is near
Let the wicked forsake his way, / and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the LORD, / and he will have mercy on him;
And to our God, / for he will abundantly pardon
We confess to God Almighty; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit that we have sinned in thought, word and deed, through our own grievous fault. Wherefore we pray God to have mercy on us. Almighty God, have mercy on us. Forgive us all our sins and deliver us from all evil, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness and bring us to life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
May the Almighty and merciful Lord grant unto us pardon and remission of all our sins / time for the amendment of life and the grace and comfort of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Lord, open our lips / And our mouths shall proclaim your praise
O God make speed to save us / O Lord make haste to help us
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit / As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end
Amen.
We praise you O God; / We acknowledge you to be the Lord.
All the earth worships you / the Father everlasting
To you all angels cry aloud / the heavens and all the powers therein
To you Cherubim and Seraphim continually cry / Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Hosts
Heaven and Earth are full / of the Majesty of your glory
The glorious company of the Apostles praises you / The goodly fellowship of the Prophets praises you
The noble army of the Martyrs praises you / The Holy church throughout the world acknowledges you
The Father of an infinite Majesty / Your honourable, true and only Son
And the Holy Ghost: / The comforter.
You are the King of Glory, O Christ / You are the everlasting Son of the Father
When you took it upon yourself to deliver humanity / you did not abhor the virgin's womb
When you had overcome the sharpness of death / you opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers
You sit at the right hand of God / in the glory of the Father
We believe that you will come to be our judge / Therefore we pray to you: help your servants
Whom you have redeemed by your precious blood / Make them numbered among your saints in everlasting glory
Lord, save your people and bless your inheritance / Govern them and lift them up forever
Day by day we magnify you / and we worship your name, ever world without end
Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day without sin / O Lord have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us
O Lord, let your mercy light upon us / as our trust is in you
O Lord, I have trusted in you / let me never be confounded
Psalm 51
Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness. / According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity. / Cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions. / My sin is constantly before me.
Against you, and you only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in your sight; / that you may be proved right when you speak, and justified when you judge.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity. / In sin my mother conceived me.
Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. / You teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean. / Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness, / That the bones which you have broken may rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins, / and blot out all of my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God. / Renew a right spirit within me.
Don’t throw me from your presence, / and don’t take your holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation. / Uphold me with a willing spirit.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways. / Sinners shall be converted to you.
Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation. / My tongue shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
Lord, open my lips. / My mouth shall declare your praise.
For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. / You have no pleasure in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. / A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Do well in your good pleasure to Zion. / Build the walls of Jerusalem.
Then you will delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt offerings and in whole burnt offerings. / Then they will offer bulls on your altar.
Proverbs 9: 1-4a, 9-11
Wisdom has built her house. / She has carved out her seven pillars.
She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. / She has also set her table.
She has sent out her maidens. / She cries from the highest places of the city:
“Whoever is simple, / let him turn in here!
Instruct a wise man, and he will be still wiser. / Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. / The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me your days will be multiplied. / The years of your life will be increased."
Psalm 76
In Judah, God is known. / His name is great in Israel.
His tabernacle is also in Salem; / His dwelling place in Zion.
There he broke the flaming arrows of the bow, / the shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah.
Glorious are you, and excellent, / more than mountains of game.
Valiant men lie plundered, they have slept their last sleep. / None of the men of war can lift their hands.
At your rebuke, God of Jacob, / both chariot and horse are cast into a deep sleep.
You, even you, are to be feared. / Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?
You pronounced judgement from heaven. / The earth feared, and was silent,
when God arose to judgement, / to save all the afflicted ones of the earth. Selah.
Surely the wrath of man praises you. / The survivors of your wrath are restrained.
Make vows to the LORD your God, and fulfil them! / Let all of his neighbours bring presents to him who is to be feared.
He will cut off the spirit of princes. / He is feared by the kings of the earth.
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Be mindful, O Lord, of your people bowed before you / and of those who are absent through age, sickness, infirmity or any other cause
Care for the infants, guide the young, support the aged, / encourage the faint-hearted and bring the wandering to your fold.
Travel with the voyagers, defend the widows, shield the orphans / deliver the captives, heal the sick.
Succour all who are in tribulation, necessity or distress. / Remember for good those who love us, and those who hate us
And those who have desired us, unworthy as we are, to pray for them. / And those whom we have forgotten, do you, O Lord, remember.
For you are the helper of the helpless, / the Saviour of the lost
The refuge of the wanderer, / the healer of the sick.
You, who know the need of each / and have heard every prayer,
Grant unto us according to your merciful loving-kindness and eternal love / Through Jesus Christ, our Lord
Amen.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit / be with us all, evermore.
Amen.
